The Colbert Report is a satirical political comedy talk show hosted by comedian Stephen Colbert. The Colbert Report airs weekday nights (Monday to Thursday) following The Daily Show With Jon Stewart. Earlier in his career Stephen Colbert was a correspondent and writer for The Daily Show. That program became popular and they were looking for a way to build on it. Out of that came the idea for The Colbert Report program. Along with hosting the program Stephen Colbert is also a writer and executive producer for the program.
