The Next: Fame Is At Your Doorstep is a new reality singing competition series that premieres Thursday August 16, 2012 on Muchmusic in Canada (and on the CW in the United States). What is new and exciting about this reality singing show? Well, on The Next there are 4 professional artists (Joe Jonas, Gloria Estefan, John Rich, & Nelly) who travel around to different U.S. cities. They show up on the doorstep of local artists who are already doing well for themselves but just need a little extra push to make it to the next level. Each of the celebrities pair up with the local talent and mentor them for 72 hours. Than all 4 amateur singers compete in a local show with the winner moving on to the semifinals. The winners from each city then square off until a winner is decided. The winner of The Next receives a recording contract.
